Pink Ribbon Review | Raising Breast Cancer Awareness

A Pink Ribbon Resource: Worldwide Breast Cancer

by Karen Lynch on July 18th, 2008

I’ve just discovered a new network for those of us who are dedicated to raising breast cancer awareness. It’s called Worldwide Breast Cancer.

Their goal is to educate in a simple way — with clear visuals and wording. For instance, they list 12 signs of breast cancer in a way that I’ve never seen before! Check it out:

That image is actually a link to their site … but in case you don’t feel like clicking on it and taking a poke around their site, the 12 signs of breast cancer (as they list them) are:

  • hardening
  • growing vein
  • redness or hotness
  • skin erosion/rash
  • visible bump
  • puckering or dimpling
  • retracted nipple
  • new assymmetry
  • change in shape or size
  • unusual fluid
  • invisible lump
  • skin that looks like an orange

(If you notice any of these signs in or on your breast(s) or in your armpit where your lymph nodes are located … consult your doctor.)

There’s loads more on the Worldwide Breast Cancer site for you to take in. I’m going to add them to the blogroll of helpful links –that’s in the sidebar!
