Mamma Mia! The Movie Supports the BCRF
Apparently after last night’s Bon Jovi concert I’m feeling a little boy crazy. Check this out:

Mamma Mia! The Movie opens in theaters this Friday. Based on the smash hit musical (Mamma Mia! The Musical), Mamma Mia! The Movie stars Meryl Streep, Pierce Brosnan, Colin Firth, Stellan Skarsgard, Julie Walters, Amanda Seyfried, Dominic Cooper and Christine Baranski (among others).
It looks like it’ll be a cute chick flick about a bride-to-be trying to discover which of three men is her father — hoping he’d attend the wedding, of course. In the process, she rocks her mother’s world, who would seemingly like to forget the fact that she slept with each of the three men at the time her daughter was conceived and never knew which one aided in that conception.
Here’s why it is of interest to me (and hopefully to you): Mamma Mia! The Musical’s creator, producer Judy Craymer met Evelyn Lauder on a transatlantic flight back in 2001 — and they collaborated on a fundraiser at that time to benefit the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
Well, their affiliation has not lapsed. There was a special screening of Mamma Mia! The Movie at the United Artists Southamptom Cinema in Southhampton, NY on Sunday, July 13, 2008 (sponsored by Universal, BlackBerry, Bloomberg and CondeNast Portfolio) touting the Breast Cancer Research Foundation as their beneficiary. Pierce Brosnan was in attendance … who wouldn’t want him to be the father of their child?!
Here’s a trailer for the movie:
Here’s a link to the official site. Let me know if you’re going to see it … and maybe we can go together!
