Pink Ribbon Readers Support Breast Cancer Initiatives

Hey, all you Pink Ribbon Readers: Have I got a pair of glasses for you! Seriously, I do. These are called Pink Ribbon Readers. Claudia Alan Eyewear & Accessories in North Vancouver BC, Canada contributes $2 from the sale of every pair of these $35 reading glasses to the cause.
So here’s the backstory: I was thinking I didn’t really need reading glasses, I’m barely 40 years old. I’ve had 20/20 vision ever since I had lasik surgery back in … back when … geesh, ten years ago. I’d been near-sighted all my life so when Lasik surgery hit the scene I was in. Back then I was told I’d probably start to need reading glasses when I was, well, like 40 years old. So did a timer go off or something? Did I really need reading glasses? Was ten years of perfect vision truly all I’d get? Couldn’t be, right?
Wow, was I in denial! I put on a pair of reading glasses, expecting to not need them, and BAM! Especially looking at this computer screen … everyone, sing with me now: “I can see clearly now, the rain has gone!”
So … back to the Pink Ribbon Readers. The style I have on in this picture (that my husband took of me this evening as I read the items in my google reader) is called AVA but they come in other styles; I have “two tone burgundy/pink” but they come in other colors as well (the black is in the product shot I’ve got up there). I must say, the plastic frames are comfortable and cool looking. The lenses are scratch and impact resistant. But the best thing about these glasses is the lovely pink ribbon made out of Czechoslovakian crystals that appears on the temple arm.
For all of you who love freebies … order a pair online at www.claudiaalan.com and you get a free microfiber case (black, with a pink ribbon in the corner and tied with a pink satin ribbon).
And FYI,
in Canada, funds go to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation/Yukon Region. In the US, funds are contributed to Susan G. Komen for the Cure Puget Sound.
