Pink Ribbon Review | Raising Breast Cancer Awareness

Laughing your way through breast cancer

by Karen Lynch on April 16th, 2008

trolls.jpgIs laughter the best medicine? Maybe not the best medicine … but it sure is damn good stuff. My family made me laugh so hard during my treatments that I swore I was going to bust a stitch or two. Literally!

Clearly, the world knows that humor makes a difference in survivors lives. Just look at these organizations doing their part to keep people laughing their way through breast cancer:

Comedy Cures is an organization working to bring laughter and therapeutic comedy to people living with illness. You can tune in to ComedyCures LaughingLunch Break PSA series on 1010 Wins Radio and Web at 12:35pm every day. You can also call the ComedyCures LaughLine to hear a simple joke (dial 1-888-Ha-Ha-Ha-Ha then Press 4).

FYI, today’s riddle was donated by a caller: “Why did the chicken cross the playground? To get to the other slide!”

Then of course, there are these hysterical cartoons from The Cancer Club … featuring new cartoons each month like the one that states, ‘Not now … I’m having a no hair day!’ That cracks me up each time I say it!

Want to spice up your pink ribbon wardrobe with a t-shirt that pokes fun at our plight? Visit Zazzle … infinite one of a kindness. Shop until your boobs drop!

Finally, if you’re thinking that you need to encourage a friend or family member to laugh her way through her illness, check out Stay Positive Greetings — humorous greeting cards for women fighting breast cancer (or other cancers). Now tell me … what made you laugh already today?
